Childhood abuse in the spotlight without limitations

In a bid to combat tight restrictions on the prosecution of child sexual abuse, Actor Corey Feldman is pushing for the Child Victims Act (S.809) to be passed. If passed the bill would see the statute of limitations for reporting and prosecutions. Furthermore, the bill would allow a 5-year window to bring charges and a 1-year window to hear civil cases as old as 50 years. It is the hope of supporters that this bill will allow the shroud of secrecy around sexual abuse to be lifted and for justice to be done for all those voiceless and powerless victims.
